Christina Manceor

Christina Manceor is a percussionist, educator, and arts administrator with diverse musical interests. As a freelance musician in the Baltimore area, she pursues opportunities for artistic collaboration in a variety of forms, including chamber music, orchestra, and improvisation. An active chamber musician, Christina co-founded the flute and percussion ensemble Duo Sila and is a member of The Kris Johnson Group, a jazz/funk/soul fusionensemble based in Detroit. She has also performed with groups such as arts cooperative Mind on Fire, samba band Bateria Terra Maria, percussion duo Sticks & Steens, and avant-garde music Ensemble 4-33.


In addition to her active performance career, Christina works at the Peabody Conservatory as Assistant Director of career services, and Adjunct Faculty in the Professional Studies department. She also previously served as Percussion Faculty at Mount St. Mary’s University. Furthermore, she has directed many of her own performance projects, including a collaborative dance and percussion performance of Derek Bermel’s improvisation-based piece, Orbit Design. Through a combination of her performance and entrepreneurial skills, Christina is able to create compelling collaborations in unexpected spaces, finding unique ways to bring the artistic and emotional journey to new audiences.
